Kenny Lew
Founder and CEO
Kenny is the founder of Entreport Asia, a business connector for global technology companies aiming to explore or expand their presence in Asia from Singapore.
Prior to starting his own venture, Kenny was with the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (www.ida.gov.sg) and helped manage grants for new innovations in the ICT space.
In 2011, Kenny was instrumental in organizing the inaugural DEMO Asia 2012 (www.demo.asia) together with Sphere Exhibits, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings (www.sph.com.sg). At this event, 71 startups from 15 countries made their product debuts in front of an audience of 800+ investors, media, entrepreneurs, innovators and industry experts.
Prior to DEMO Asia, Kenny managed the Incubation Development Programme (IDP) at Spring Singapore (www.spring.gov.sg). The incubators were from across various sectors like ICT, Engineering, Media and Fashion. Kenny was also the evaluating officer for several YES Startup grants (now called ACE Startup) that provides $50, 000 SGD funding for first time entrepreneurs to develop innovative ideas.
Before joining SPRING Singapore, Kenny was a technology transfer manager with the Industry Liaison Office under NUS Enterprise of the National University of Singapore (NUS). His twin focus were commercializing university intellectual property and fostering research collaborations between academia and industry. Through licensing, he has helped several university spin-offs in the ICT and Engineering space.
A key highlight in his stint with NUS is organising the annual Technology Commercialisation Forum (TCF), where key industry players converge in the most established platform for technology transfer, investment and licensing in Asia. He was also among the pioneer team that helped drive R2M, an initiative to better facilitate industry partnerships to bring NUS innovations to market.
